New Landowner Program, Range & Pasture Management and Native Grass Development

The multi-county committee would like to extend an invitation to the 8th installment of the Landowner Program Series being held on Friday, October 16th, 2020, at the Johnson County AgriLife Extension Office Conference Room, located at 109 W. Chambers St.

Cleburne, Texas.

Check-in for the program is at 1:00 PM the program is set to start at 1:30 PM. The seminar includes the following topics:  A Year in Range and Pasture Management, by James Jackson –Range Management Specialist for Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service; Native Grass Development, Sheena Schemm- Soil Conservationist for Natural Resources Conservation Service, Cleburne Texas; 1 IPM CEU opportunity for those with a pesticide applicator’s license.

 

This program is open to everyone and will help answer questions about the management options for their property. James Jackson, our Range Management Specialist, will take you through an outlook of a full year implementing best management techniques to help reduce input costs and be timelier with those inputs to increase their effectiveness. Native Grasses can take on a significant role in your land stewardship plan, but they are not like other forages. Taking the time to learn about their establishment and how you can better develop them to be productive is a unique challenge. Sheena Schemm with NRCS will be delivering the best management practices for the development of these native grasses to benefit your goals as a landowner. Participants can expect a great learning environment with an opportunity to engage with program speakers on their topics.
